MAN.G.MAN


사람들은 들키고 싶지 않은 무엇인가를 내면 깊숙이 숨기고 산다. 가끔 불현듯 그것을 끄집어내어 보고는 괴로워하기도 한다. 어느 날 타인에게 그것을 적나라하게 들키는 순간이 찾아오기도 한다. 심장이 요동친다. 그리고 동공이 흔들리는 찰나, 내 안의 어둠 속에 자리 잡고 있던 또 다른 자아가 분리 된다.
그것을 두 개의 눈동자를 통해 상징적으로 표현하였고 'alter ego'로 정했다.
 
디자이너 ‘MAN.G’로 살며 느꼈던 것들과 나 ‘g.man’이 하고 싶었던 것들의 충돌, 그것을 있는 그대로 자연스레 드러내 보았다. 어렸을 때부터 “나는 멋진 수트와 구두를 신고 일하는 것을 상상하곤 해”라고 외치며 종종 마음을 표현하곤 했지만
디자이너 'man.g'의 삶 속에서 'g.man' 을 깊숙이 넣어 두었고 이제는 그를 꺼내어 함께 하고 싶다.
 
그라피스트 만지의 경쾌하고 화려한 올드스쿨 그래픽의 스트리트 무드를 서브로 두고, 내면의 자아가 하고 싶었던 테일러드 무드의 클래식함을 믹스 매치하여 'MAN.G.MAN'이라는 새로운 컬렉션 레이블을 선보인다.


We, people live our lives as hiding things deep inside of ourselves, which we do not want to unveil to others.
Time to time, we take them out, see them again and suffer from feeling them. And all of sudden, others around us recognize what we do unexpectedly.
Subsequently our hearts are racing. Our pupils are shaking – this is the moment that another ego, staying in our dark side of our mind, comes out.
Therefore, two pupils in the design have become symbolic expression and it is regarded as an ‘alter ego’.
 
I wanted to naturally express the conflict between experience/feeling as a designer, ‘MAN.G’ and desire from myself, ‘g.man’. Even since I was little, I often told people “I picture myself in the future to work in a nice set of suits and shoes”. However, it has been difficult to revisit that imagination deep inside of me and to realize it since I had to live as a designer, ‘MAN.G’. Now, I would like to go with it.
 
Here, I am introducing the new collection label called ‘MAN.G.MAN’ by mix-matching classic designs with tailor-made mood coming from desire of the alter ego while still keeping old school street mood with dynamic and vivid designs from GRAPHISTE MAN.G as a subbase.





GRAPHISTE MAN.G


The origin of the brand, "GRAPHISTEMAN.G" is the act of painting. The designer
intuitively describes love and paints it in his art work with his own interpretation.
This means "GRAPHISTE MAN.G" will come to our people as the great brand
expressing its meaningful uniqueness with the slogan, "Love of My Life" rather than
becoming exaggerated and meaningless subculture.
 
그림 그리는 창작 행위 자체를 브랜딩 하면서 시작된 "그라피스트 만지"는
만지라는 디자이너 개인의 인생에서
사랑이라는 주제를 직관적이고 주관적으로 해석하여, 거창하고 의미 없는 서브 컬처가 아닌
love of my life 라는 슬로건을 통해 유니크 하고 위트 있는 컨셉트에 다가가고 있다.
 












He was born in Kyung-gi Province in 1983.

After graduating from Indeok University, Animation Art Department,

he was actively involved in many projects pertaining to fashion designing,

graphite and tattoo and also in 2005 he launched the hand-made fashion brand,

"Vicent Man" to expand his capability and career.

With all the previous great experience,

in 2013 he successfully established the current brand,

"GRAPHISTE MAN.G", where you can find the fantastic hand-paining

design as the core component of his work.
